What if recovery has nothing to do with stopping a behavior, or even getting ourselves back to a previous state? True recovery is the process of recovering all of us, and with that, all of the possibilities for ourselves and our lives. Most of us have greatly limited what we have decided we are and can be, particularly after certain events like divorce, death of a loved one or active addictions in ourselves or others. True recovery allows us to see the greatness of us that has been hidden – perhaps for our whole lives. Would you be willing to discover a YOU that’s beyond anything you’ve ever imagined?
I’ve recovered from many different things in my life – divorce, abusive relationships, addiction to alcohol and cigarettes, the death of family members and friends, a chronic illness, and even some bouts with depression. While this reality suggests we need different paths to recovering from these events, what I’ve discovered for myself and my clients of 20 + years as a psychotherapist, is that true recovery is a process of personal transformation. It is applicable to personal losses of all kinds, as it releases us from the limitations that have kept us small, contracted, and unaware of what is potentially possible for each of us. It is not about managing symptoms, or addressing each “issue” one by one. It is a paradigm shift. Old patterns and belief systems drop away because they are incompatible with the true YOU!
This class is designed to give you the tools, techniques and information that can empower you to unlock the YOU that’s been obscured and buried by past events and choices.
YOU are a gift – you have a place in the world and you deserve all the joy and happiness that’s possible.
Some Benefits you may experience from the class:
- Greater awareness and understanding of the faulty thinking, paradigms and judgments that have kept you from stepping into true recovery.
- Accurate information and practical tools and techniques that you can begin using now to empower yourself.
- New ways of working with grief and loss.
- A movement from an often-unrealized victim stance to discovering and stepping into being the creator/source of your life.
- Tools and exercises to assist you in discovering all of the parts and pieces of yourself that you have cut off or hidden or suppressed or deemed unacceptable, that actually hold the keys to some of your greatest talents and abilities.
- A greater sense of joy, ease, happiness and possibilities than you may ever have known.
- Greater confidence to make the changes you desire and create a life far greater than you may ever have imagined.
What clients have said:
Marilyn Bradford, through Right Recovery for You, has opened up a way of living that is beyond any other kind of therapy or program I have ever found. I have had counseling off and on for the last 15 years with some excellent therapists, but working with Marilyn has shown me that I am the person who is in charge of my life. I have gotten ME and what I perceive, know, receive and am. Rather than giving me “answers”, I now create questions which open up more and more possibilities and choices in my life. I am a happier, more aware and more present human being as a result of my work with Marilyn Bradford. My experience with Right Recovery for You is much more than any kind of counseling program; it is an opportunity for me to create and generate my own life. Thank you!R.T. California.
I have attended several of Marilyn’s classes and joined her on tele-calls. I am so grateful to her for the insightful, caring way she asks empowering questions. She also offers tools to use to change behaviors and always it has been my choice to use them or not. I have come from a family background that was very harsh physically, emotionally, sexually and mentally. I believed that I was evil and that was why I was treated so badly. Now I can see clearly what I chose and I am empowered to chose differently. Without her caring manner it might not have been possible for me to feel safe to look at the issues. Using the tools she offers facilitates change even where there have been years of struggle with other modalities. I am at present learning to care for my body and gently nurture it and care for it as a friend. Thank you so much MarilynLove M.C. Australia
Soooooo grateful for Marilyn and her generous insight!!! Interesting that I have chosen addicts of almost every variety as (dreadful) partners!!!! I’ve gone to Al Anon, Co Dependents Anon, read more ‘self help’ than I care to admit! Experiencing Right Recovery completely shifted my point of view. The wrongness of me (crap I ‘bought’ along the way) kept me in such a vortex of hopelessness. 12 step reinforces that. Right Recovery is like CPR for your soul; your being. What if you are absolutely perfect? You are!!!!!!!! Thank you Marilyn for ‘cleaning house’!!!!!S.A. Massachusetts
Thank you so much for your “Restoring the Power of You – Right Recovery for You” tele-calls. They have had an amazing impact on my life. I always thought I had an addictive personality – even an addict archetype working in my life – and there was little I could do to change that. There have been so many areas of my life that I act in an addictive / compulsive way – everything from smoking, workaholic, food, wrongness of me, fixing other people’s problems, ice cream, alcohol and even computer games & sudoku. I now understand how the decisions & judgments I made based on the events of my life – combined with language, beliefs, entrainment and expectations of my family – joined together to convince me there was something wrong with me and to hide or cuts off pieces of myself. You have removed the need to ‘struggle and fight against’ those aspects of me that I have been trying to fix all my life. There are so many tools you have shared with us that I just know that with practice and application I will be able to reclaim me and feel not only safe but also good about being me in this world. The most important aspect of your tele-call series was your knack and ability to intuitively know what was going on with the people in the call – to discuss it and clear it in a way that was healing and affirming for us. There were times I was on mute and you answered the question that popped into my mind. Thank You for being who you are and what you do.D. K. USAby
